Courses currently open for registration:

Literacy and Basic Skills

Literacy is necessary for full participation in our rapidly changing society.  It is much more than just being able to read and write.  It is about using the different forms of communication that give us further opportunities in our society – for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Our Literacy and Basic Skills program runs Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Amanda Macumber is our classroom instructor. Our services are always free and confidential.

This program runs in a small group setting, where learners work together on common goals.  Based on skills and knowledge, an individual learning plan is created for each of our learners.  Some areas that are focused on include healthy living, budgeting and money management, problem solving, and other life skills.

If your goal is Grade 12 equivalency or a high school diploma, we can guide you toward that goal.  If you are looking to improve your employability, we will help you work towards that goal.  We are approachable and dedicated to make things interesting for you – we would like to see everyone reach their full potential.

Secondary School Credit Courses

In partnership with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board we are pleased to facilitate credit courses.  There will never be a better time than right now to complete your high school education. Do it for the respect you’ll earn and the career than can be yours.  But most of all, do it for yourself.  You’re closer than you think.

GED (General Educational Development)

In partnership with the Independent Learning Centre (ILC) we also provide assistance to individuals looking for their GED.  ILC is the exclusive provider of the GED test in Ontario and is the only method of earning the Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate.  Click on the link to learn more.
